Dorset and Wilts had a winning start to their Inter couinties campaign, winning 50-5 at Middlesex.

Swanage and Wareham player Charlie Parish scored a hat trick of tries. Fellow 'Swan' Matt Roberts was also among the try scorers.

The slick backs led by the impressive Charlie Parish (Swanage and Wareham) pulled the strings well. The forwards managed to take the game by the scruff of its neck from the off.  Swans' Charlie Rowberry was quick to make his mark, going over for the first try after 5 minutes of play and to his credit went on to score a further 2 tries in the game.

The level of control the twin counties forwards imposed on the opposition meant that the backs could attack at will, further tires from the classy Tom Lane (Sherborne), Matt Roberts (Swans) meant that Middlesex didn't get a sniff.  Scrum-half Dave Tonge had his usual busy game, and scored a try late in the first half. Centre Rob Larcombe (both Salisbury) was also very active, tackling non-stop and scoring the second and the last tries of the match. Liam Gilbert (Salisbury) in the second row made good use of his experience playing at higher levels, his dominance at the line out helped launch further attacks onto the Middlesex line.

Strong debuts from Rob Best (Wimborne), Tom Scott (Salisbury) and Tom Ranabaldo (Salisbury) also caught the eye of the management.  The final score was 50-5.

Counties manager Matt Pallas said: "It's really pleasing to see the team gel so well only after being together a short period of time. The lads have continued their fine club form with the Twin Counties, which is a real plus point.
We won't get carried away, there are still 2 tricky games to play against Essex and Hampshire but it's a fantastic start."

The Counties' next fixture is this Saturday, 9th. May, at Trowbridge where they will host Eseex.
