The deadline's been extended if you want to take part in the official ETU European Long Distance Triathlon Championships next month in Weymouth...but not for long..

Entries have to be in by this Friday 21st August, with the race, and the Weymouth Half Triathlon both taking place on September 13th.

The main race starts with a 2 lap 3.8km open water sea swim in the clear blue waters of Weymouth Bay. Then athletes will head out on a rolling 180km bike course weaving through stunning local Dorset countryside offering competitors a fast and smooth cycling event, taking in the beautiful surrounding terrain with views of the famous Jurassic Coastline. To finish athletes will take on a 4 lapped 42.2km run along the Esplanade and through the historic town incorporating a 'beer mile', which, once again, will no doubt be bustling with support from family, friends and loved ones, making for a very spectator-friendly end to a picturesque iron distance triathlon.

There will be traffic management in place on the bike course giving athletes the opportunity to take advantage of riding a fast course with closed, partially closed and managed roads.

The Weymouth Half triathlon will take place on the same day as the full distance. Weymouth Half athletes will benefit from riding the same Challenge course, but half the distances and like the full distance the entry fee includes access to the pasta party!
