10-year-old motocross rider Tristan Daniels has picked up his first trophy of the season.

The Dorchester Mddle School pupil has recently been crowned 65cc Youth Challenge winner at the Ringwood motocross club.

The Youth challenge runs alongside the first 6 rounds of the clubs 2015 Summer Championship. Consistent riding enabled the young speedster to gain more points than all of his rivals and walk away with the coveted trophy.

Daniels rides with both the Rngwood and Poole and Parkstone clubs where he is challenging for top honours at both clubs.

He also has his sights set on success in the Youth Challange and 2015 Junior Championship with the Poole club.

His performances this season have also seen him selected to attend the MCF Grand Slam finals in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Riding whilst suffering with a virus saw the youngster gain a very creditable 20th out of 43 against some of the UK's best riders in his age group.

October will  see the youngster again compete in the Weston Super Mare Beach race, an event that is regarded as the toughest in the British off road calaneder.

Last year Daniels achieved a creditable 12th place despite being hampered late on in the 90 minute endurance race by mechanical issues.

Speaking about his success so far Daniels said: "I am really enjoying my racing, my trainer Lewis Trickett has helped me to develop my technique and the support of my family and sponsors has been marvellous.

"I would really like to thank my parents, my grandparents, mechanic Alan Coles and my sponsors Stuart & Robert Downton of S & R Downton Building Contractors Dorchester, Paul and Cate at Falcon Signs Yeovil and John Loving brickwork who have all helped me get this far and I hope, to get more trophies and awards."
