You don't have to travel all the way to America to get the full flavour of American Football.

The Jurassic Coast Raptors are urging supporters of the game to go along and see them in action this afternoon. (26 June)

The team play at Dorchester Rugby Club - and are also looking for local businesses to lend their support in the form of sponsorship.

Coach Bill Heinrich says it's a great sport to watch.

"It's a full speed, full contact tough game of chess with bodies. Once you understand it, it's a great sport."

"We are playing our first season in the national leagues. The real challenge is that you are competing against teams that have been in existence for 25 to 30 years so you can't really prepare the team to compete against players who have been in a club for that long. This sport is new to all of our guys but we have seen improvement in every game."

Their next match is this afternoon at Dorchester Rugby Club - with Kick Off at 2.30pm.
