It was the start of the football season for the Terras and Dorchester.

In the Southern League Premier, Weymouth began their campaign with a visit to Harrow Borough, having finished last season in fifth place with 97 points. They got off to a slow start falling a goal behind, before Brandon Goodship converted a penalty to make it 1-1 at half time. He then scored a couple more in the second half to make his hat-trick and give the Terras a 3-2 win. They're next at home to Taunton on Tuesday night.

Dorchester Town began their new season on their new 3G pitch hosting Metropolitan Police. The visitors took a 1-0 lead into half time, and that was also the final score on a disappointing afternoon for the Magpies.

Portland United and Bridport were both in FA Cup preliminary round action.

The Blues beat Clevedon Town 2-1, whilst the Bees will need a replay on Tuesday against Wellington as it finished goalless.
