There was another exciting afternoon ahead for our top local teams.

Dorchester Town and Weymouth returned to Southern League Premier action this weekend, following their FA cup exploits.

Table topping Weymouth were looking to bounce back from their midweek exit at Banbury United, as they hosted 6th placed Hartley Wintney at the Bob Lucas Stadium. They were 2-0 down before Stephane Zubar scored in the 80th minute. Warren Bentley then found an equaliser in the final few minutes to give the Terras a 2-2 draw.

Dorchester followed up their cup replay victory over Wimborne at the Clayson Stadium, with a trip to Beaconsfield who sit 2 places and a point below the Magpies. Aaron Rodriquez rescued a point as he made it 2-2 with only minutes left to play.

Bridport were in FA Vase action - they hosted Warminster Town in the first qualifying round at St Mary's Field. They were in devasting form again, with Oscar Latas and Leighton Thomas scoring 3 goals between them in just 5 minutes towards the end of the first half. Sam Clarke then scored two goals in two minutes to give Bridport a stunning 5-0 win and a place in the next round.

In the Wessex League, Portland United went to Team Solent and won 4-2.

Bridport drew against Weymouth And Portland in their rugby derby, as it finished 24-24. Puddletown lost at home to Wimborne's second team 47-12. Dorchester beat Thatcham at home 28-24.
