Dorchester have moved up to seventh in Blue Square Bet South with a 1-0 victory at Salisbury City.

Rico Wilson scored the only goal of the game six minutes before the break to push the Magpies to within two places of the play offs.

A Sam Malsom hat-trick also saw Weymouth get 2012 off to a winning start as they beat AFC Totton 3-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium to move to tenth in the Evo Stick Southern Premier.

It wasn't such a happy new year for Bridport, who were hammered 4-0 at top of the table Willand Rovers in the Western Premier.
