(Updated 7:11am 30th July 2012)

6:52am 30th July 2012

On the waters of Weymouth and Portland Ben Ainslie is off to a decent start in his bid for a 4th consecutive Olympic gold medal in the Sailing.

He was second in both of his races in the Finn class on Sunday (29th July 2012)

It means the Team GB star is second after day one by 2 points in the ten-race series.

The top ten sailors will advance to the final medal race on Sunday 5th August.

Elsewhere, in the Women's Elliot 6m Team GB's trio of Dorset's Macgregor sisters (Lucy and Kate) and Annie Lush got off to a promising start with a win over Denmark in the first round robin event. But they lost to Spain later in the day in their second race.

They'll be looking to bounce back when they take on Portugal and Australia later (Monday 30th July 2012).

In the Men's Star Andrew Simpson and Iain Percy who came in 11th place in their first race - 1 minute 24 seconds behind France's race winners - managed to get some wind in their sails in Race 2 later in the afternoon. They clinched 2nd place, losing out to 1st place Brazil.
