Weymouth Basketball Club's junior team have slammed dunked their way into a new partnership with Weymouth College.

They've agreed to continue providing them with sports facilities at the college.

In return the club's aiming to get more of us into basketball.

Club Head Coach Alex Fuhrmann, "This connection between us and the College has put together two of the leading facilitators of junior activities in the borough. We're very happy to keep basketball running from the Weymouth College sports hall and it has allowed us to maintain a huge presence in the area within youth sports."

In honour of their continued dedication to community links, Weymouth Basketball Club have decided to rename their three competitive junior teams; Weymouth College Tropics, Weymouth College Oilers and Weymouth College Giants.

Brendan Black, Duty Manager at Redlands Community Sports Hub and Weymouth College Sports Centre, "We're extremely happy to assist in the delivery of one of Weymouth's most popular and upcoming sports. Every year basketball has proved to be an increasingly popular sport that can provide a variety of skills across a variety of sports and we're excited to be involved."

Weymouth Basketball Club is able to offer two free sessions to those new youngsters who are interested in participating and all queries should be directed through the club website www.weymouthbasketball.co.uk
