Dorchester Town Football club are reeling from news its facing a Winding Up Petition in court on Monday.

The club say they know nothing about it and are urging supporters to stay calm.

Chairman Shaun Hearn's told Wessex FM he's in shock, and can only imagine it's an administrative mistake. He says club officials tried to find out more late on Friday but wil pursue the matter first thing Monday morning.

Dorchester Town football club have issued the following statement:

Late on Friday the Board of directors became aware of the Ministry of Justice website which showed Dorchester Town Football Club Ltd listed with a winding up petition for Monday morning.

The Board was shocked and surprised as the club is up-to-date with all creditors. The club has not received any notice of a winding up petition and confirmed there was no notice in the London gazette.

As it was late on Friday the relevant offices were closed but the Board can only assume it is an administrative error. The Board wishes to reassure supporters’ that the club is on a good financial footing particularly after our run in The FA Cup.
