Magpies Attempt FA Cup Giant Killing

The Avenue Stadium in Dorchester will be packed to capacity this afternoon for one of the clubs biggest games in recent memory.

The Magpies face League 2 giants Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup and it's gonna be LIVE on ESPN.

Magpies manager Phil Simkin's told Wessex FM he won't reveal his line up till shortly before kick off.

Here's some match facts about the Magpies and the FA Cup:

They've played Plymouth only once in the FA Cup, losing 5-2 in Round 2.

They've only reached Round 2 three times, in 1954, 1957 and 1981, most recently losing in a replay to AFC Bournemouth. They've never yet made it to Round 3.

In 2000 they travelled to Wigan Athletic, then of League 1, in the 1st round, losing 3-1.

Magpies will know their reward for winning this tie, before kick off at 4.30pm. The 2nd Round draw's on ITV 1 around 2.40pm

The Avenue Stadium Capacity is 5,009, the record crowd is 4,129 v Weymouth, January 1st 1999
