For the second year running, The Royal British Legion are holding a Festival of Remembrance at Weymouth Pavilion.

The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 11th November. This year however, a local event will be aiming to recreate the night at Weymouth Pavilion.

The event was also run last year with great success and it aims to commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflicts; and do that with entertainment and reflection.

The theme for this year’s Festival is passing the baton of Remembrance from one Generation to the next when the audience will be invited to “Rethink Remembrance”, because there is a new generation that continues to need the support of the Royal British Legion.

Appearing on the night, music from the Decadettes, Bovington Military Wife Choir, Bournemouth Youth Marching band and the Weymouth Concert Brass.

Ian Jarvis is organising the event and he told me more about the aim of the night.

The Royal British Legion - Festival of Remembrance takes place on Sun 29th Oct from 6PM until 9.30PM at Weymouth Pavilion.
