Wessex FM's first £1000 Minute winner, Sarah Allen from Weymouth, has put some of her winnings towards taking over the cafe at Safewise Weymouth.

Sarah became the first winner of £1000 on Carl Ashwin In The Morning in 2018.

The opportunity to take over the Café at Safewise Weymouth next to Weymouth Community Firestation proved irresistible for Sarah who comes from a hospitality background. She used the money she won to buy equipment and stock and as of now, the Café Safewise is open for business!

They serve drinks, cakes, breakfasts and lunches and can be found at Weymouth Community First Station on Radipole Lane in Weymouth.

The café is open to the public on Weekdays from 8AM until 4PM.

Centre Manager, Ben Heath told Wessex FM,

"It's there for the whole community come in and have a tea and explore the centre. There are loads of actitivities and rooms to book - it's just what every community centre is all about."

Meanwhile, Sarah said,

"My husband is a section commander here and also serves in the London Fire Brigade, so I have always have had links here".
