Former Dorchester Town Academy player Liam Sayers goes straight into the squad for tonight’s match against local neighbours Poole Town.

Manager Mark Jermyn has today strengthened the squad with the signing of Portsmouth striker Liam Sayers on an initial month-long youth loan deal.

The striker, who signed a two-year professional deal with the Fratton Park outfit in July 2014, is a product of the Dorchester Town Academy, having joined Alex Browne’s set-up in 2009.

He was spotted by Portsmouth scout Jan Rowles while playing at the Dorchester six-a-side tournament and watched over the following year, before signing for Pompey on a two-year deal. Liam has an impressive goalscoring record for Pompey’s reserve team and featured in the pre-season clash between the two sides earlier this season.
